Subject: New key idea.

In my scenario I use doors with keys all over the game! And I found an awesome
way to do this.
First create a system of keys in the item menu, make them tools, and give them
their own special flag. Say a bronze key with a special flag of 1.
Then place the door that you want to be locked anywhere. (the doors marked
with a capitol 'i' work best.
Put a (Terrain This Type: Town) flag on the door. Say If the terrain is
whatever terrain your door is call this special. Then make that special an (If
Item Equiped + Take). Say, for the bronze key, If Item Special Flag 1 Equiped
Call this special. Make that special a sound, 9 works best as a click. Then
link a change terrain town flag to it and change the terrain either to an open
door, or an unlocked door! Now, to tell the player what key they need for that
door go back to the (If Item Equiped + Take) special and make the else a
(Display Small Message) special and make it say something like "There is a
small (Whatever the key is) hole here."
This gives this affect.
Someone walks up to a door, left clicks on it, aw! it says "There is a small
bronze key hole here." The person looks through their inventory and pulls out
a bronze key, the equip it and left click on the door again. The door pops
open and the key is taken! You can even put locksmiths in your scenario that
sell keys! Its a niffty idea. You should try it.

CREATOR COMMENTS:

Neat idea. Just be careful. When the party leaves town, the door will be locked again. Make sure they can get a fresh key when they need to reenter the area.
